Whew. That was close. For a few days there, I had no upcoming Disney trips planned. Thankfully, that grievous problem has been resolved. 🙂 I now have two upcoming trips for later this year.
On August 16, I will be returning to the Disney Dream, this time with my half-sister Amanda. We will be embarking on a 5-night Bahamian cruise, including a stop at Nassau and two stops at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. I had such a great time on my recent Dream cruise with Ange, I am really looking forward to this one coming up. Amanda is more or less going nuts ever since I gave her the surprise news over the past weekend. I’ve been trying to tell her as much as I’ve learned about the ship and the island. Of course, I know virtually nothing about the teen areas (Vibe on the ship, the Hangout on Castaway Cay), so large parts of the cruise will be completely unexpected for her. Personally, I am beyond thrilled at the concept of going to Castaway Cay twice on one voyage. I love that place.
Then at the end of September, I will be making my 22nd trip to Walt Disney World. This will be a very quick weekend trip, specifically to run in the 2011 Wine & Dine Half Marathon. This has the dual purpose of getting me a WDW racing medal I don’t yet have, and giving me further incentive to get my fat butt to the gym on a regular basis. I would be really really happy if I could manage to actually jog more of this race than I walk. Not being a stone’s throw away from the sweepers would be a good thing as well. For this trip, I’ll be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside resort, because Pop Century doesn’t have event transportation for this race, and I really don’t want to stay at the All Stars unless absolutely necessary. Ange will also be joining me on this trip, to get one last use out of her annual pass before it expires in November.
I’m very excited about both of these trips. They will obviously be completely different, but lots of fun each. As always, huge thanks to Stephanie at MEI & MouseFanTravel for all her help in booking these trips for me.
